Don’t Rule Anything Out
October 15, 2008
I wore my scarf and black vest. We had our weekly meeting and he told me my idea wasn’t quite there yet. Go home and brainstorm. I did.
We had weekly meetings. I had an idea but wasn’t sure how to execute it. He told me to go home and brainstorm. Consider every single thing. Don’t rule anything out.
I went home, ate dinner, crashed on my bed, and pulled out my sketchbook. I wanted to tell stories about moments in my life. I looked up at my closet and realized that I remembered exactly what I was wearing in each of the situations. What if I use clothing as the venue to tell the story? I started to draw.
Somewhere between the thread, glue, paper, paint, getting confused in pattern directions – I discovered a new interest. This is going to point my life in another direction. It’s amazing to me to see what came from one thought, one night.
